Word Duel: 5 Letter Word Game

How to play

Word Duel is a 2-player word guessing game: you and a friend get the same hidden 5-letter word, and fewer guesses wins. Playing alone? Solve the daily word puzzle or take on a ghost. You have 6 guesses to find each word. Every guess must be a real word, and each tile shows whether its letter is in the right spot, in the wrong spot, or not in the word.

PLAY WITH FRIENDS ON THE SAME WORD

Send an invite link and play your round right away. Your friend opens the link, plays the same word when it suits them, and fewer guesses wins. Same number of guesses? The faster solve takes it. Each side has 3 days to play, so you never have to be online at the same time. Add a quick message from a ready-made list when you send your round, and watch your rating change after every duel.

THE DAILY WORD

One new word a day, the same for every player in your language. Keep your streak going, share your result grid (it shows the colors, never the word), or send a challenge link that says how many guesses you took. Your friend plays that same word and tries to beat you.

PLAY A GHOST

No friend around? Play a ghost: a real Word Duel player's finished round on a word you haven't seen, replayed beside you with their name and profile picture. Your own finished rounds can become ghosts for others, and you can turn that off in Settings.

START A CLUB

Start a private club, invite friends with a link, and your daily points add up on a weekly leaderboard. It starts over every week, and last week's leaderboard stays up so everyone remembers who won.

STUCK? USE A HINT A hint gives you a clue: a sentence with the word blanked out. It uses 1 of your 6 guesses.

No account needed. Play as a guest, or sign in with your Zaparo ID to keep your progress on another phone. You can delete your data from this app anytime in Settings.

Word Duel is free to play and shows ads: a banner on the Today tab and, now and then, a full-screen ad after a finished round. The ads come from Google AdMob and from ZaparoAds, our own ad network. Where the law requires it, you choose how ads are personalized, and you can change that in Settings. Nothing is for sale.
